Description

Deep fried deviled eggs take this classic appetizer to a whole new level of indulgence. Hard-boiled eggs are halved then lightly breaded and fried until the outside is golden and crisp, then piped full of a creamy, tangy yolk mixture. The contrast of crunchy coating and smooth filling makes each bite irresistible. Perfect for parties, game days, or anytime you want to put a bold, unexpected twist on a familiar favorite, these deviled eggs are guaranteed to disappear fast.

Ingredients

Instructions

Hard boil eggs.

  1. Fill a medium pot half way with water and bring to a boil. Gently put eggs into the water making sure the eggs are covered by at least an inch of water. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 12 minutes.

Fill a large bowl with ice cubes. Once eggs are done, add water to make an ice bath. Carefully remove the eggs from the water and submerge into the ice batch for 10 minutes. Crack the shell and peel the eggs.

Prepare the yolk filling.

  1. Slice the eggs in half. Remove the yolks with a spoon and place into a medium bowl. Set the egg whites in the refrigerator. Add the mayonnaise, mustard, seasoning, and pickles into the bowl. Combine and mix thoroughly. Add mixture to a ziploc or piping bag and put in fridge.

Heat oil.

  1. Add oil to a griddle-safe container, enough to completely cover egg. Heat to 350 degrees.

Dredge egg whites.

  1. Setup a dredge station with three bowls.

    • Flour
    • Egg Wash
    • Pork Crumbs

Individually dredge each cooked egg into the flour. Then transfer to the egg wash, coating thoroughly and letting the excess run off. Then coat it in the pork crumbs, coating the entire egg.

Cook egg whites in oil.

  1. Lower the eggs into the oil. Cook until golden brown which is typically 1 1/2 - 2 minutes. Remove from oil and place on  wire rack to drain and cool.

Fill eggs.

  1. Pipe the filling into the eggs and sprinkle with additional dill and smoked paprika - enjoy!

Note

Filling can be modified however you want. Like spicy? Add jalapenos and hot sauce! Like a Mexican flair? Add taco seasoning and lime juice. Have fun with it!
