Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine onion, jalapeno, cumin, and garlic powder.

  2. In another medium bowl, combine tomatoes, ketchup, and mustard.

  3. In a small bowl, combine chili powder, salt, and pepper.

  4. Preheat your griddle to medium heat. Criss-cross score your hot dogs to allow for more even cooking and set aside. Add onion & jalapeno mixture to the griddle and saute until onions are translucent.

  5. Add ground beef to the griddle and mix with onions. Add bowl of seasoning and toss all together. Cook meat until browned.

  6. Add tomato mixture to meat & onions and mix. Cook until chili thickens and turns a darker reddish brown color. Remove from griddle surface and place in metal bowl on griddle to stay warm.

  7. Warm hot dog buns on griddle surface and cook your hot dogs, rotating to evenly brown on all sides.

  8. Plate your chili cheese dogs by adding hot dog to bun, topping with chili, and then topping with cheese. Serve warm.

Note

Ground beef can be substituted for ground turkey.
